RUTH ASAWA SAN FRANCISO FOUNTAIN SLIDE PRESENTATION

Thursday, July 24 | 5:30-7:30pm
Onsite | Free

In 1962, Ruth Asawa started making baker’s clay to entertain her children with a medium she could make in her kitchen. Several years later, Asawa and her community of family and friends used baker’s clay to make dough figures and city landmarks that would eventually be cast into bronze.

Join Ruth’s Table and Aiko Cuneo for a slide presentation about the history and creation of Ruth Asawa’s San Francisco Fountain.

This program is held in celebration of the Ruth Asawa: Retrospective exhibition at the SFMOMA through September 2, 2025.
